I don't write many reviews given that I think they very subject to your personal feelings. But since this booklet had so many raving reviews, I thought I'd give a more balanced view.
I felt this book was very basic, if you did not know you should have multiple types of bandages in your first aid kit, this is the book for you. A lot of the 'advice' was just a simple statement and then a paragraph or two re-stating the original idea with little or no real additional advice.
I also felt the information was uneven, I think it's good to have a number of items in my kit, but advising everyone to get a suture kit, is a bit more advanced than anything else he suggested. I've never been shown how to use a suture kit in any of the first aid classes I've taken. Not that you can't learn it or should not. but it seems a far more advanced skill than anything thing else he talked about.
Lastly, more an oddity I guess. I don't know if the book was sponsored by a particular national chain store, or the author has stock in them, but it seemed an odd suggestion of 'the best place' to get your first aid supplies.. and he went back to it repeatedly. I'm fine with suggesting options or bargains to fill out my kit, but this seemed over the top.
In summery, I felt the information here was over basic (for the most part) and common sense. I don't think anyone who has taken a bit of time to considered what there first aid kit needs will find anything new here.

A great survival kit everyone should have. The author has done a great job explaining what survival kit is, how to manage it, when the need arises, etc. The book is a comprehensive survival kit guide. Everyone should have one.
Very basic stuff and not fully explained. Don't expect to be ready for anything after this. Really a teaser for the author's Survival Guide First Aid book, which is available on . I generally life the author's material -- but clearly the answer is to buy the other book.
Canton, whose tone of writing is easy to read and digest, provides the reader with an understanding of what a survival kit is all about and why they are important for everyone, not just the outdoor enthusiast. He provides a clear and concise explanation of the item and its basic use. Personally, I consider this guide to be the bench mark by which all other guides covering the building of survival kits should be measured.
Having a first aid kit, or a survival kit is a must in my home. We have accidents all the time, and with our love of the outdoors it is always in use. This book was great when helping you to put together a nice survival kit. The book breaks everything down into simplest terms. It talks about how to store it, and even offers tips on using it as well as storing it.
This book is a comprehensive guide that is very informational and educational regarding things that are essential during an emergency. The items to be added in to the survival kit are well explained in this book. The author describes all the necessary things and some basic first aid tips very neatly. Great book and intelligent writing by the author. All ideas came from the mind of an expert. This book is highly recommended. Thanks to the author for his great book.
